This is an original top on my 63 300. I think I fixed the issue of the rip by filing down a sharp edge on the convertible bracing. Can anyone suggest how to repair this small rip before it comes through the outer vinyl top?

From what I can tell the under padding is deteriorating. If the top itself is good you can take the top lose and replace the padding and reinstall it. Not that hard to do.

went to the hardware store this weekend and found this product. It worked perfectly and seems to be holding. I recommend it..
