can I ask that someone be kind enough to make a few measurements on big block dipstick?

I have installed a moroso braided dipstick on my fresh rebuild, there is no cross hatch area on the dipstick to adjust for proper oil level and I don't have a factory style dipstick to compare it to .

Can you please tell me the overall lenfth of the dipstick
Also overall length of the dipstick tube
Also how far up from the bottom of the dipstick is the cross hatch area for adjusting the oil level.

Thanks!

What pan, how many qts ?

You may want to drain the oil , fill again with the amount your setup calls for , minus the filter , and use that as your guide ???

Moroso 7 quart pan
Wix 51515 oil filter (standard BB size) I assume it holds one quart.

So I assume the total oil volume is around 8 quarts

I suspect that some oil maybe burned during the break in process and would like to keep a close eye on the oil level.

@John, thanks for the advice, it will work for max fill level but I'm still curious of the overall length of the cross hatch area so I can determine how much oil has been consumed.

Thanks!

iagree scope twocents
Never take anything for granite when swapping pieces onto our motors tsk If it is a 5 quart pan put 4 quarts in it and mark that, then add the fifth quart and mark that as full work up I use the chrome brand Mopar dipsticks and tubes on new builds and always mark and calibrate them, I usually have to shorten the dipstick tubes to get them close on the dipsticks work scope Good luck, let us know how yours goes up
