What did the factory do when mounting the window plug on an SE Challenger? My car has the new vinyl roof over the bare plug which is obviously wrong. It seems to me the factory just used seam sealer to fill in the gap and level the surface?

Thanks Fastmark. I've never owned an SE before. It looks like my window plug is sitting down to low for a start. It looks to me like the first thing to do (after pulling up the poorly installed vinyl) is to investigate the plug and move it up a bit. After that I might consider using duraglass or maybe allmetal (something that won't let water through and will bond to metal and fiberglass) and making a perfect seam that is sealed before gluing the vinyl down again.

SE's used a closed cell foam on top of the plug, that is what builds it up higher. Closed cell as to not hold water, also tape over screw holes as shown in the pics above. It's a foil tape. You can see the white foam on Fastmarks green SE.
