I can get the idel mixture were i whant.... When i set the idel screws on idel standing and then take the car for a spin it will lean out when i brake the car for a stop sign so i had to screw out the idel mixture screws about 3/4 more to make it run on idel when braking the car and it buggs me why !? The carbs i use are BG six barrel carbs that works realy great but i relay would like to lean out the idel if i can.

Maybe it's sloshing fuel into the motor from the vent tubes on braking work shruggy

I had the same problem on a old set of mechanical 6 pack holleys I tried raising lowering the floats nothing seems to work. I wanted it to idle at 850 n and about 700 d so I had to raise that to 1000 n to get a 850 in drive it doesn't die now but I have hooked a wide band on it and you can see it lean out the harder you hit the brakes the more it leans out.

Ahh: Cab that can't happen on a sixpk. All three fuel bowls are in front of the vents so the fuel tilts away from the vents on decel.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Where is the idle feed jet located? At the top or bottom of the well?

When you brake with the 6 pak carbs the fuel will slosh to the front of the bowls decreasing the pressure head at the jets. This is supported by the lean mixtures observed.

There is a thread in the racingfuelsystems forum that describes the reasons behind relocating the idle jet from the top to the bottom of the idle well on a Holley. Take a look at it and see if ti makes sense for your situation.

Yep that's what I think is happening. I tried advancing the timing, raising the float level to halfway up the site hole nothing seemed to work except for nudging the idle to 1,000 in park
