What backspace is best for a 67' B-body?

My current cop car wheels are 15x7 with a 4.5" back space and 255/60/15 tires clear the quarter panel by 1" and the leaf by 1 1/4"

The repro magnums "stock" sizes are 4 1/4 back space. Should this be ok?

Original cop car wheels are 4.25" backspace.

Are you measuring from the edge of the lip or the outside bead?

I measured from the edge of the lip.

I take it this was the wrong way to measure?

If you measure form the outside of the bead you'll get 4 1/4" or extremely close. You'll get the same measurement off a set of original 15x7 Rallye or 15x7 steel rims.

So the repro Magnums that are listed as 4 1/4" should have the same backspace as you current 15x7 Cop rims.
