I've found several brands for sale for a 1971 Barracuda. AMD, Goodmark, and Metro to name a few. Is there one that's better quality than the other ? Anyone know how well they fit ?

get nice straight originals and have em redone, more than repros but worth it, i think it was like 800.00 for my challenger..

I have straight bumpers. Then the question is where do you get them re-chromed ? I'm sure it will take all summer before I get them back. Then there is the double shipping I'm sure I'll have to pay.

That's why I asked the question about the quality of the new bumpers. I already have the rear bumper that came from Year One, just don't know about the quality of the other companies I mentioned. Plan on replacing the front one soon. If the quality or fit isn't right I can re-chrome the original ones this winter. There is a car show in mid June that I'd like to make it to. I don't plan on winning trophies but just want it to look nice.

I get mine from Tri City Plating. They will either send you straightened and re-chromed or will do yours. Ask for Porter... http://www.tricityplating.com Never had a bad one....

I couldn't swing the 3x cost of replating vs new. I got an AMD and it looks better than the rear done by TriCity.

Keystone bumpers are the best quality if you can find a distributer.

I got a AMD for my challenger and had to send it back for the poor quality.

What do you mean by poor quality? Was it because the way it fit ? Chrome peeling off ? Swirl marks in the chrome ? Chrome not covering all of the bumper ? When was it purchased ? I would think after making bumpers for a few years now, AMD should have all the bugs worked out. Maybe not ?

Two years ago I bought an AMD front bumper for my 71 Barracuda and reurned it the next day. It fit nicely but was very wavy along the top. Looked horrible in the sunlight especially from the side looking down the length of it.
At the time AMD told the vendor they were all like that and I would not get anything better. I ended up with a Keystone bumper that looks much better but seems to have more of a "V" shape looking down on it. I think The AMD bumper fit better but the Keystone looks nicer overall.
