My two choices are to run it long enough to get the oil temps near 190 F and shut it off, drain the fuel cell and start it up and run it long enough to make it run out of fuel and use all the fuel up in the carb. and fuel lines. Pull all the spark plugs out and shoot motor oil into the cylinders, enough to lube the upper cylinders by spinning it over on the starter with the plugs out and then button it up. When it comes time to start it I might pull the distributor and prime the oil system with a drill motor and primer rod and put new fuel in it and run it.If your near the ocean with high humidity you might want to pull all the plugs out before starting it in three months and see if you see any signs of condensation in the cylinders, I would If you see signs of water and or rust try spinning the motor over by hand with a breaker bar to see if you can feel any tight spots while rotating it over, if not put the plugs back in and start it, good luck

Fogging oil can be bought in spray cans at Boat dealerships. It fowls plugs I understand, but it will take the worry out of cylinder rust. You could put a set of used plugs in it to crank it when you fog it. On the fuel, a well sealed system shouldn't need much maintenance for three months. If you feel you need to do something, then just plug the carb and tank vents till next use.

thanks for your help I can say for sure that keeping the fuel cell full is way better than empty. I would not drain the carb either. Keep leaded race fuel in it and it will be fine for 3-4 months. I stored a car with leaded race gas for 18 years and I am still actively driving that car with the same gas tank and carburetor. I parked the car in 1987and started driving it again in 2003. Still driving it this past weekend. Empty fuel cells are the worst.
