The 904 in my 62 Valiant is on the ground right now. Unfortunately I'm married to it, the tunnel is so small in these cars, I had to cut it just to get the carbon shield on there. I'll just keep throwing better parts at it, I suppose. Got the good input shaft this go around.

While I like the glide I have broken to sets of plantaries and one input shaft. I now have a ATI 1.80 and a turbo shaft 😉

I've always been lucky enough to have 2 different local guys that do 727's on the cheap, I've raced my whole life and never spent more than $350 to drop off a stock 727 and pick it up race ready, basically just a bolt-in sprag and a decent rebuild kit. 2 of the cars ran 9's for years, never a problem. But I never did hit them with a transbrake or power adder. Powerglides seem to be the way to go these days but I personnaly think a 3 speed is more fun and sounds better going down the track.

I'll have to decide what to do asap since I want to get this thing back together and running this week Since you have a spare output shaft, put it back together and race a few weeks/months while you plan your next step. I would be surprised if you have the exact same breakage anytime soon. It might not last 300 passes, or something else might give up... But at least you are racing right away.

Did some thinking and talking with a few board members, and with what I wanted to do with the car, I am going to just replace the shaft and try it again. I'll stick a smaller jet in the plate and cross my fingers that it lasts the rest of the season on a new shaft. It just sucks when racing season is only a few months because of the weather and you break and have to sit out to fix things, that is what I want to avoid, but breakage comes with the territory. Should hopefully have this thing all back together by the weekend

Just curious, do you have any upgrade to the front clutch spring? I think there is a better single spring, and a complete multi-spring upgrade. I have the multi spring upgrade, yes

That is the MOST unforgiving tire there is for a race car. Would be better off with slicks from a driveline breakage aspect. As for the nitrous, you can likely spray it all you want, just don't leave on it, because you are going to break it again nitrous or not Monte
