My 06 Ram Hemi was not running smooth like normal, so figured new spark plugs. Put new ones in and it still ran rough. Bought another set thinking there might be a bad one, and still the same. Thought at first exhaust leak but it sounds descent at idle, but really gets loud and runs rough around 65-70 mph. Also noticed the tube connected to air cleaner had a small amount of oil in the end when I pulled it off, which has never happened before. Not throwing any codes. EGR valve? Any help pointing me in right direction would be great. Does have 155k on it, so probably time for a timing chain. Thanks.

Not sure what year they revised the valve springs, but a buddy had an 04 that would go back and fourth between running fine, and running rough and backfiring slightly through the exhaust, more of a miss really. All signs pointed to electrical issues. Changed the MAP sensor, spark plugs, fuel injectors on the misfiring cylinder (throwing a code), finally ran a compression test and low and behold that cylinder was down. Changed the valve springs no more problem. Food for thought.

Changed every sensor(crank, o2, etc) a couple years ago. Doesn't sound or feel like a misfire. It used to sound like a nice constant drone of the engine at high speed. Now it sounds garbled and the engine feels like it has a vibration at 65-70. I've read about the 04 Hemi with valve train issues. Thanks

Does your truck have MDS?

I think 06 has MDS, my 05 Magnum did the what sounds similar when I put a Diablosport tuner on it. Turns out the MDS throws a fit and is all out of whack. All I had to do was unhook the battery to clear the adaptive learning and it was fine, the MDS was then able to "relearn" within the parameters of the Diablosporttune. It doesn't sound like you have a tuner but maybe something is up with your MDS, maybe one of the soleloids is acting up

I believe it does. I even tried resetting the computer but no change. If there was a problem with the mds wouldn't it throw a code? Thanks
