My steering box is getting very sloppy with a lot of play in it. Makes it kinda pesty for highway driving. Would like to stay with the manual steering, rather than adding power steering to it.

Anyone know what ratio the factory box is? Has anyone tried an aftermarket box like the Flaming River 16:1 unit. What are your thoughts, experiences and recommendations?

The same basic box was used for ages.
Have you looked into the Firm Feel rebuild kits?

How about an NOS 1973-74 unit with pitman arm, small sector, plus
shorty joint shaft.
Cosmoline and paint daubs no extra charge.
PM me if interested.
