Some bad news... Unfortunately I am thinking of dropping out of the May 23rd event. There is still a bunch of little things to do on the car such as wiring electrical, adding oil/coolant lines/ fluids, weld up exhaust/ o2 sensors, engine tuning, alignment etc... In all honesty I could probably finish the car by May 23 but it will be un-tested and there is no way I would be comfortable going to Sonoma with a car that hasn't been shaken down for problems yet. I usually like to drive my car around for 2 weeks to a month before an event to work out issues so that it is good to go at the track. That being said I can probably still make the June 6-7th event, it will cost a little more but at least it gives me some more time. Even if I can't make that, I will be definitely ready for Laguna Seca on June 27-28th.

Oil pressure 80 psi check! Fuel pressure just under 60 psi check! Plugs got spark! No injector pulse... On top of that my laptop blue screened of death... So close!

I failed! Could not get the engine to start... I have been busy trying to see if I installed something wrong this whole time, but it turns out my FAST XFI and XIM boxes are not communicating properly! Looks like I won't be making Sonoma this year... I finally dragged the car home from my buddies shop and hopefully I can sort things out as Laguna Seca is in a month. This is what I get for being cheap and buying FAST haha! I should have gone Motec instead...

I was kinda feeling lost with the MS3 at first, then I stood back and took a couple days to think about what the car was doing. Also asked Wade and EFISource Mike some questions. Realized I had Eagle plugs and I unplugged my MAP sensor to put the right bolts in it. Its ready to rock now. Take a couple steps back and think for a bit, you may realize you did something without even thinking.

I don't know FAST as well as I know megasquirt, but I'm willing to lend a hand if I can help in any way.

Thanks for the support really appreciate it! I really think one of my FAST boxes has an issue? I have been working with the FAST tech support guys and Mr. Rich Nedbal FASTMan EFI, they helped me out to update all the firmware to the XIM which controls the coils and the XFI which controls the fuel. http://www.cpgnation.com/forum/threads/new-crate-hemi-does-not-start.25311/That led to the XFI and XIM to communicate. I have still not been able to start the engine so I went and checked to see if my spark plugs were working. I had previously tested the coils on all 16 leads to check for spark before the firmware updates and had verified spark with a spark tester. Well now cylinders 1,4,6 and 7 are not getting spark! All of the 8 coils and 16 spark plugs still function because when I swap them around to the wiring that does work I am able to generate a spark to the spark plugs. The funny thing is that half of the cylinders that get no spark are in a pattern: 1 = no spark 8 4 = no spark 3 6 = no spark 5 7 = no spark 2 I checked the continuity to the wiring harness to all the coils and it all checks out. It's just strange that I would have spark to the coils before but now lack it to half in that pattern? That's what leads me to deduce that I probably have a bad XIM coil box and why I haven't been able to start this entire time. I will get back with the FAST tech on Monday for more help

I did find that one of the ports on the back of my intake was open, as if a vacuum cap had fallen off. I sealed that up right away. I checked the CAN terminating resistors and they read 117-119 ohms. I couldn't read the other resistor as the pin hole is too small for my multi-meter probe but I think I am ok there. I also have spare resistors from a spare LS1 harness. Apparently the no spark to every other cylinder is normal?

Try re-loading the firmware. If spark was working before and not now, that's an issue.
There's a chance it wouldn't start the first time due to the vacuum leak, and now it won't start due to a bad firmware upload.
