I've read previosly that all 69 model B-body cars got head rests.

Well, today, I got to look a survivor 69-Hemi Superbee, 28k original miles, original bucket seat interior and no head rests.

The build date said A15 from the St. Louis plant.

My 68 GTX Convertible, 69 Charger SE, and 69 A12 all have headrests. I know 68 was optional.

The Bee is gaurenteed 1 family owned car.

I took pics with a friends camera and will have them emailed to me soon.

Can anyone explain this?

Was a half year thing. Cars after Jan 1, 1969 had them. The hemi bee is correct in not having them as it was made prior to the date.

Rick.

Optional prior to 1/1/69 and mandatory after. Early build 69's may or may not have them.

Prior to 1/1/69 they were an option.

Left only was C25, right only was C 28 and both right and left was C 31

So what you're suggesting is that it wasn't a good regulation?

I've always been amused with a '67 or two I've seen with one headrest.

Sorry, I didnt mean to imply it was a bad thing. It was just a reminder to me how our goverment makes a lot of decisions for us. Some not so good like spending 700 billion dollars without even asking me or you.

Can't wait to see those pics. A blue or black 4spd coupe is my dream car. Modified of course

Restoring a car to look "only" as good as the factory made it is like getting a boob job for your wife and having the doctor make them two different sizes to seem more natural

By the way, if it didn't have headrest, it had the one light, tail lights in it (one for reverse, one for turn/stop) and it should have black buttons in the door handles as well as a 68 style shifter knob if it is auto on the floor. I have seen a couple real early hemi bees with the 68 style hemi call-out on the fron fenders also.

the picture files are too big. I only took a pic of the interior and the hood/fender. I'm not sure how to resize them to under 50kb.s

Car is T7, pearl white top, black bucket seat/console interior,4spd, stripe delete, N96. Car just got an outside repaint only. The rest of the car is pretty much original.

I just snapped a few pics while checking out a friens Superbird that is being restored. The Hemi happened to be in the shop.
