Friend got a 2005 3.7 .. He had some heating issue, he replace the thermostat this did not f
Help .. Now
it overheat just sitting idling it run cool when he driving on the interstate..what could cause this?

Sounds like the fans are not coming on. At idle when it warms up the fan/fans should be running on high. I'd check that first.

Has he checked to be sure it doesn't have an air pocket. If not then he either installed it wrong or he got a bad one. Time to do it again. What was the original heating problem?

I think he said his temperature gauge was jumping around that when he decided to change the stat out...
