Hey,

Just curious on how much oil and what kind you guys are running in your diffs?

Running a narrowed 9" ... pro gear... 3200 lb Hemi super stock "B" body... 8.90s ...

Been running standard 80/90 weight gear lube...(non synthetic)

I've been told that 2 quarts (liters) is fine... stock volumne is not necessary... I find that it suffers from leaks from the "green" bearings if fluid level is too high... thought it was the "O" rings on the bearing to housing ends leaking.. but now I believe that the leak is directly through the bearings... its not a huge leak or major problem.... just a pain in the a** !

Anybody else experience this?

Just curious as to who is doing what and having success smile

Thanks,

I had the same problem last year. I just installed new axels & bearings. I put a 1.5 qts this time. Check ur vent too.

1.5 to 2 qts is more than enough to keep the ring and pinion lubricated.

i have 3 quarts in mine but mine has Floater ends & the manufacturer suggests filling up to the bearing level. good seals on mine so no leaks.
