Hi all, I have a 1988 Ramcharger with a wobbly steering column. I tore it down and tightened the 4 bolts from hell and this did little if anything to tighten it up. I was wondering if anyone here knows if i can just put a non tilt column in and eliminate the whole tilt problem? whats the difference between the 2x4 and the 4x4 column? I also have a 92 ramcharger 2x4. Will that column work? any help will be very welcomed since it's not really safe at this point to drive the truck. The shifting is way messed up do to the column being loose.

if its a tilt column, you get the bushing rebuild kit for 82-87 chevy truck tilt column. major PITA job, but it fixes it right up.

I had an 89 with the same problem.... in the 10 months i was driving it i had to mess around with that column 4 times the last time i put blue loc tite on those 4 bolts that kept coming loose. It helped me... hope it helps you.
