Is the silver on the lower edge of the grill and around the headlight openings light silver argent or is it just light silver paint?
Thanks

i believe originally the color was put into the molded plastic itself.
at least that is how my original ones appear to be.
i redid mine with the light silver argent.

black was what the grill was cast in. krylon nickle shimmer metalic was a close match to what the original silver was

The original silver paint does not have a texture

I'd agree with that...

Thanks for all the help. I have the originals and they did not look like they had any argent.

I just restored a 71 Road Runner grille recently for a friend. My top secret paint for the surround and headlight openings is Eastwood's Spray Gray. No texture, very high solids for one coat and it's a dead nuts match to the original low mile one I recently sold. Here's some pics.
