I'm thinking about installing the windshield on my Barracuda myself but can't seem to find any good info on how to do it. A video would be awesome but I'd settle for some good how to information. Thanks...

I'm assuming my 65 A is the same as your 68 A. clean the body perimeter metal edges all the way around. put a layer of windshield caulk around the sharp edge all the way around more so on the top side as that is where the rain will be coming from but do do a reasonably thin even smear on the bottom side of the metal edge also. set the WS gasket in place with its groove down on the metal edge. put a layer of caulk in the bottom of the wide recess that the WS will set into. with a helper set the windshield into the bottom gasket groove. work the other 3 sides of the WS under/into the recess. center the WS slightly as needed. grab your helper to lift the top inside edge of the gasket & you caulk inside there. clean the caulk that will ooze out. (hard part) install the locking strip all the way around & trim its end length as needed (a new flexible one is good if you can find one available). there is a tool like a oblong spoon with only the perimeter left to help gettting the trim down in there but sometimes/some places on the WS it works better to work it in by hand. definitely have a helper on call when the time comes at particular times in the install. go over your work so it looks right/slightly adj gasket/trim as needed. discipline your self to walk away for a break as needed as the first one is a pain/might get to ya. You are forming a moisture barrier (caulk) betwen metal body lip and gasket and a barrier between gasket recess & WS glass edge. the first one I did they sold me hardening caulk & years later when I returned they only had non hardening caulk. call a body shop & pick their brain on what they recommend. take your time & good luck with it

IIRC the headliner has to be installed before the windsheild gasket on those...

yes I did the headliner at the same time but I dont remember which I did first. Look at the serrated edges on the metal on the front inside of the roof area & that might tell you if the HL needs to go in first. if you are able to hook the HL material over/on the serrated edges with the WS gasket already in place

Its certainly easier to install the headliner before the gasket. But it can be done with the window in if the casket is pliable enough to pull back a little.

that's what I was thinking as I certainly wouldn't think you'd need to pull the WS/WS gasket to do the headliner

Thanks for the info RapidRobert. I kind of have an idea now how to do it. I've managed to do everything else so far and I think I can do this as well. By the way, my car is a convertible, so no headliner. Thanks guys...
