Got new rear main seal from Summit a few minutes ago. Directions say soak side strip in mineral oil. Side strip are made of blue silicone (?). Thought rubber side strip went in the retainer dry and you oiled the block, at least with the orange ones. Anyone use the blue ones?

Can't figure out how to post a pic. Something different on here now. The package the seal came in said genuine Mopar parts.

It's pretty straight forward and here's the "how-to". I'm still learning as well.

I'd like to see a pic of the instructions as well if you could.

Here's the Superformance Products retainer seal

That's the puppy. Never saw a blue one before. Does it install like the orange one?

It only took my 15 tries to post the instructions laugh2

Yes, they are installed in a similar fashion as the orange ones. DO NOT soak them in Kerosene or Mineral Spirits or you may just end up with a blue blob in your hands.

Mopar Performance was supposed to change the instructions with the addition of these new seals mad

Fill sides with black sealant and install. Then after install use black sealant between block and retainer sides to fill the gap.
