I have been having throttle issues since I put the 1050 Dominator on my small block. To start with I could not get full throttle with the stock mopar cable. I ordered a Lokar cable from Summit and finally got full throttle which has been difficult also. Now when I mash the gas peddle the throttle on the carb moves slowly after I mash to the floor. It is moving so slow it is slowing my 60 ft. down.
Has anybody else had this problem before. I am sure I am already close to the 60ft. by the time the throttle is wide open.

Is your cable kink anywhere that will cause it to move slowly you want the cable straight as possible

It has a loop in it. There is no way it can go straight from firewall to carb. I would post pic but I can't since the forum has changed.

Same problem. I went to a modified solid throttle rod, problem solved.

Will it help any if I shorten the cable and make the loop smaller.

Get rid of the loop... make the cable as straight as
possible... cut the housing to a length that makes it
to the carb then pull the inner cable up and put the
cable end on it... dont put the cable in the outer
hole on the carb.. down a little from the big hole
is a 1/8 to 3/16 hole.. use that one.. that will give
you a better ratio to get WOT
wave

I am going to shorten the cable as much as possible. There is no way I can avoid having at least a small loop. Without a loop it would be two sharp bends in it and I think it would bind. Maybe that will work.
