This weekend I found a '70 roadrunner power bulge hood to cut and fab to my '80 truck hood. Now before you bash me for cutting a good hood up, it is a rusted out piece of crap. The only thing good on it is the center of the hood...Perfect! I saw this picture a few years ago and have had thoughts of copying it. I'm super excited to start this part of my project truck.

BTW, does anyone have an insert on the rear of the hood for these Roadrunner hoods? The one I bought was missing it.

I hope you don't copy the poor putty work and swelled spots laugh2

I've seen the inserts on ebay pretty cheap.

I love both of those! Scratch and regular jay
Yes I am Golden-Arm. I figured that's the best way and best looking in the end.
I also am doing the flip top gas cap, I'm going with the 68 Barracuda style.

I like your idea. I have a 1987 D100 and it would look better with a power bulge hood...and if it had the '70 Air Grabber mechanism it would be even cooler. The last one of those I saw was on the '70 Road Runner 440 4 speed Dana 60 car that I helped turn from a roller to a bracket car. As I recall, my boss sold the hood for more than he paid for the car, but that was in 1982...
Hopefully I will see your truck at the Spring Roundup on June 7th.

I will be there PolaraPete, but will not have my truck done by then. It was my goal to make that show. Now I'm shooting for Sunbust in August.

Did a little work today. Got the hood cut to size and factory supports ready to weld, maybe get to weld it up this week.

Having done the same install on a 69 Charger, if I were to do it again, I would cut a smooth half-circle around the front of the bulge. It would have saved a lot of stitch work.

Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they are not out to get you. WANT TO BUY- Looking for a CD by 'The Sub-Mersians' entitled "Raw Love Songs From my Garage To Your Bedroom". Also, any of the various surf-revival compilation albums this band has contributed to.
