hi i just got my 410 SB stroker running in the dak, anyway while its runing at idle to bout 1200 rpm or so I hear a thump kinda noise, I heard this noise before with my old 360 combo, the 410 is using all the original parts from the 360.. Mech airtex fuel pump is one of them. It is loudest on the pass side.. near the fuel pump area. I also have open headers so it is kinda loud. But i can hear this noise over them at idle and just above. How-ever when i rev it the noise goes away or is quiter.. The oil psi is great. I thought is was the dust shield but it doesnt have the tinny sound.

thanks in advance..

Don

You shouldn't be able to hear a mechanical fuel pump working.

sometimes they are noisey. i've got to two 440s both with 6903 carters. ones quiet and the other sounds like hulk hogan working a plunger in double time, . the noise doesn't seem to hurt anything so i just let it thump.
