I am building a 440 stroker motor, the motor has been decked to 10.965 and the final bore will end up .030 over. I was going to use a 4.250 K-1 crankshaft, Eagle 6.800 rods and Probe SRS forged Pistons. The pistons have a 1.770 compression height and with this combination it should give me a zero deck height if I did the math right. Every other stroker off the shelf kit the pistons in the kit put me either over the deck height or to far in the hole. The rod ratio with this combo is 1.6 and will give me 9.5 compression with iron heads that I will later upgrade to aluminum at some point. What do you think of this combination, I have not seen this combo in any other stroker kits advertized. Am I way off base with this one or will it be a nice high performance street motor. Trying to stay away from a high priced custom piston. These are the pistons on summitracing Probe SRS 14896-30 Pistons, Forged, Dish, 4.350 in. Bore, 1/16 in., 1/16 in., 3/16 in. Grooves, 1.770 in. Comp. Height, Mopar

I heard K1 is no longer producing parts.!! Let us know if you find that to be true or not!! I was going to buy one of their cranks for a low deck motor and my machinist said they were no longer making them...

Really only think its going to see street use in a 68 Dodge Charger.
Sounds like a well thought out "torque monster". Hope you share updates.

What combo did you end up going with?
I had six used and two new BB Chevy Eagle 6.800 H beam forged steel rods, a new 4.150 Chinese crank with 2.375 rod sizes, I had the crank offset ground to 2.200 to end up with 4.25 stroke. I drop the Diamond pistons off at the machine shop last week so I don't have the spec. sheet in front of me but I think the pistons are minus .015 in the hole and a small dish to be pump gas freindly with 84.00 CC iron heads, the unkown part is the used block deck hieght I have two sets of heads set up ready to go, a set of Mc Candles 452 castings that are big valve and ported and polish with 84.0 CC and another set of used stock non ported Eddy RPM heads with 81.0 CC I don't have a home for this motor yet I had some of the pieces, block, heads, cranks, rods , cam and lifters, rocker assemblys, intake and carb. and a lot of the other small parts needed to make a motor so I did that by ordering the pistons last October This will be one of three motors sitting in my shop looking for a home, a 451 C.I. 400 pump gas stroker, a 464 C.I. 440 block pump gas stroker and this new one
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Why not a 440S kit? Or buy pistons from them? I have used step dish Icon 4.375" pistons with 1.485 c/h and 7.1" rods, and 4.15 cranks that I have offset ground to 4.303", then milled the pistons to fit the deck height. If you use the 4.25 crank it should fit nicely, at 10,71" and you can fit the pistons perfectly during mockup. You can also choose from 3 different style Icon/440S pistons; flat; small dish or large dish. You can even buy it fully balanced, and the small amount you take off the pistons will not affect balance negatively. I just offset ground 2 cranks to 4.303" and used these parts for strokers, on a budget. If you buy the parts 1,77" pistons and 6.8" rods, and regret, I think you will have a hard time selling it! My

I had the same issue when trying to get a 4.25 crank for my low deck. Luckily, if you need a comparable quality crank, there is always Molnar.

The reason you haven't seen that combination is because you are working with a block that has been decked .030. The rods you are using are not much longer that factory 440 ... 6.768 ... an RB stroker is usually made with stock length rods or 7.1 ...
