rears on the Rampage with Strange struts in front..

Just depends how quick the car is, and what tire.

An 11~12 second car, needs a different shock then a 9~10 second car.

Radials and Slicks need different valving also.

I personally run AFCO's custom valved from Mark Menscer. I had Rancho 9 ways with Caltracks on my mid/low 10 second B-body. It was hit or miss with traction.

New shocks from Mark were like night and day difference. The car NEVER spins anymore, and has been 1.41 60ft on street tires. Once of the nicest most helpful guys you'll ever meet too.

Just depends what your ET goals are, and what your budget is.

The front AFCO DA shocks, how do they fit? The lower mount of the shock is so wide, does it fit the stock lower control arm mount or do you have to do some massaging of the control arm? And what about the lower adjustment "button" on the shock, can you get to it easily or?? Does anyone who runs the Afco front shocks have a pic on how they mount to the lower controlarm?

Thanks!
/Tom

Like dizuster said, a 9-10sec car will want different than an 11-12sec car. But the better shocks will work on both. It's always easy to spend someone else's money. But:

4 CE shocks at $53ea - $212
4 QA-1's single adj at $165ea - $660
4 QA-1 or strange double adj at $250ea - $1000
I think afco runs pretty close to strange etc. but you get the idea.

I had strange and was happy on my drag only car, and have recently switched to penske. Only on way to learn.

Thankfully shocks can be one of the last things you buy. It just sucks when you buy say CE now, then go beyond their limits and keep going up the pyramid. It gets expensive and frustrating. Good luck, beautiful car.

Fit my 64 Belvedere almost perfect. I did grind a slight scallop from the upper control arm bump stop mount, just a little off the corner. Knobs to the inside.
