Will be painting my Demon in the next month or so. Doing a color change so I'm doing my best to strip the car.

Anyway, how do you paint down there????

By the time you put down several coats of primer and the final color most of the factory color you see way down in there will be covered up.

Paint heavily through the opening then wipe the runs off with a rag soaked in thinner. Once you final coat the car enough overspray will get in there to cover it.

I love the smell of Deer guts in the morning, it smells like... VICTORY!

I do something different, I don't worry much about it while painting the car, it's gonna get oversprayed & theres no good way to get good color in there...So I wait till the car is painted then I use premium spray paint but I replace the spray tip with a tip that accepts a tube like carb cleaner or WD40 has...Put the tip through the bars & black out the space.... It looks way better blacked out anyway...

When I painted the Demon way back in 1981,all I did was just shoot the color normally, and I also shot some color thru the wiper motor opening and it covered inside the cowl vent area fine.We changed the color from the factory dark green/gold/brown color over to Vitamin C orange.

Your picture reminds me to tell you to replace your windshield wiper seals if you haven't already thought of it. A very common a-body leak location.

On my B-body, I reached up through the vent intakes and used a small trim roller with POR-15. I used the black, but after they sprayed my car (EW1- White), it looked grey. So I am sure enough overspray will get down there.
