Hey guys, I have one last gremlin I am chasing down with my interior work and I wondered if anyone had any ideas...

My dimmer switch works great when the ignition switch is either off or on the accessory position. If I move the ignition to the Run position, the interior lights go bright and cannot be dimmed.

I have a new dash wiring harness, newly restored dimmer switch, new ignition switch and more or less all new or all newly restored dash and wiring components.

The other electrical functions all seem to work fine except this one glitch. I can't figure out from the wiring diagrams what power is being sent to the interior lights when the ignition it set to run. This is an M&H harness.

Any ideas?

Steve are you saying the interior lights go full bright when you turn the key to run (ign1)? & is this with the rheostat in any position (in other words if dimmed part way they go to full bright. What year/make/model

You obviously are feeding keyed power bypassing the dimmer. With a new harness and so many items being worked on I would suggest trying this. Take the fuses out one at a time and see if you can isolate the problem to a certain circuit. If you have an aftermarket radio or any other aftermarket devices I would unplug it.

NITROUSN, thank you very much for the suggestion. That's a great idea and I will work on that today.
