If you don't think outside the box, you may be stuck inside the box. I like a few of these ideas as I've noticed fuel stains on my windshield and suspected fuel my be getting sucked out of my fuel bowl vent tubes by incoming air. The old rubber hose trick may work but these look pretty trick.

I've used the plug boots before.. or the hose.. I
never tried the brass fittings.. I didnt think they
would seal on the vent tubes

More over here. It's more about maintaining balanced atmospheric pressure to the bowls, that is what pushes fuel into the engine. When pressure at the vents are disrupted the fuel curve gets messed up.
