I have removed torsion bars before and have a tool for them. But now I am trying to remove them from my 65 Plymouth Satellite. The left side one started to move with the 1st hit. The trouble is the hex part where the front of the torsion bar goes in is coming out as well and still has torsion bar in it firmly. Any ideas how to stop that from moving?

Is the whole lca moving? or just the hex? Sounds like your lca bushing has separated from the shaft and the entire arm is pulling back with the bar-

You should be able to hold the bar with one hand and rattle the LCA forward by hitting it with a hammer.

As said just tap the LCA forward with a brass drift/hammer. I'm assuming the wheel is off & the drum/caliper off is even better to make the assy as light as possible. Put a hyd jack under the LCA & support it just enough so you have more of a straight horizontle line/less weight binding the assy

How easy Soak with Penetrating oil and go away for the weekend. Just went out to see if LCA or Hex anchor was moving. Tapped T bar tool back Tapped the LCA forward and T bar stayed back. did it Once more and T bar was out. Getting too old, Memory getting bad. The other times everything was still connected solid as was dropping the whole unit with the K frame when I removed T bars.
Thanks

Have you got EVERYTHING disconnected so the LCA is hanging freely? Shock, lower ball joint, tie rod end, etc.. With the LCA just hanging there the torsion bars should almost just slide out if they aren't rusted in.
