My cars window cranks need springs to push the door panel out so that handle and black spacer fit flush. Found some for other cars, does any one make them for E Bodies ?

I just rebuilt my 1970 Cuda doors and rear glass regulators and I don't remember seeing a spring like that. Do you have any photos?

Perhaps the Challengers are different?

I did a search and Jims Auto Parts advertises Window Crank Shaft Springs - All A&B ( not needed E bodies).
Here lies the problem, I have brand new inner door panels with correct thickness black window crank spacers for front and rear. Regardless the shaft sticks way thru and is visible. Could something else be missing needed to have inner panel sit out closer to the window crank spacer and handle. If I wanted I could put TWO black spacers, only it would look ridiculous.

I just did my 70 Challenger and mine didn't need any springs with original door panels. I don't know if they were lost many owners ago or not. If you need to use a spring who could fault you for using any spring?

I asked the spring question in the thread about the spacers, but got no reply.

I thought the springs went on the front, but I'm told that I am wrong, and that they actually go on the rear. Which is correct?

The only spring I found on my E-Body is the resistant spring that helps offset the weight of the glass.

There is no other spring that I have ever seen on these cars but as another posted if you need one...then you need one!

Is it possible you are using a spacer from the front? I think the front's are thinner.

Jim from JS Restorations just sent this photo to me. I trust his experience explicitly and here is what he had to say:

"The were only used on the rear window cranks for all years to keep the panel tight from being able to push it in. Narrow diameter towards the crank frame and wide toward the panel. They are 1 1/4" tall."
