Do you keep this in a car that could possibly go 8.90s?

Most people don't keep them on a car that could possibly go 13.90's...

The weight and supposedly, the front end works better.

However,on a 12.20 sec B-body we raced,removing the sway bar didn't do a thing.

The way an anti-sway bar works is by keeping the front suspension preloaded when weight transfer tries to unload it. It's designed to help stop side to side unload, but it also does a good job of stopping front to back unload. In a drag car, the first thing you want when the light goes green is immediate unload of the front suspension, transferring all possible suspension load to the rear. In a drag application, this piece of hardware works against you.

shedding the 8-10 lbs is also a step in the right direction.

Shame on you! If you're going to scrap it, send it to me. I'll sell it and buy some performance enhancing part with the money.

Same experience here with 11.24 b body, doesn't matter if it's there or not.

Well, actually it WILL make a difference. But with so many variables involved and the small amount of weight (i.e.: 20lbs = .02), it's usually not noticable. Air temp, wind, humidity, water temps, shift points, etc. from run to run can easily do that much. But it's a bunch of those "little things" that eventually add up to obvious gains.

Removing weight means less mass to move and removing the sway bar does loosen up the front suspension. If a car normally works well with it, removing it can provide that extra bit of weight transfer to help if traction conditions may be a little less than optimum for your combo.

...and as mentioned earlier, you can always sell it to someone who can use it and put the money towards something that will help even more than "just" removing the sway bar!

I have never removed mine from my car and it usually runs in the mid 12's, but I also drive it on the street and thats where I really need it.

416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out.
11.06 open headers----so far!!
