Ft. Left tire was indicating a little low, so the TPMS warning light came on. I took it in for an oil change at my regular Dodge dealer & looks like the guy inflated all 4 to 36-37 pounds according to the IP display. The warning light is still on. Is there a way to "reset" this light, or did the guy over-inflate the tires? (I told him to put each at 35 pounds)

The sensor is going to be expecting to see the PSI amount labeled on your driver side door panel.

How far have you driven it since the tire was aired up? I think you need to drive the vehicle for a few miles before the light will reset.

I know you said left front but I would check the spare tire pressure just to make sure.

This is also true.

10-15 miles maybe. The only thing that really bugs me is the whole display is hogging the screen now. I think I can switch the display, but then it comes right back up when you restart it. I've got to make a 70 mile run today - I'll see if it resets. I'll try dialing-in the tire pressure to recommended specs if none of this works. Thanks all.

The only people that need the TPMS light are the disconnected people that should not be behind the wheel for any reason
Those are the fools that are texting and driving.

My wife's Honda TPMS system light is glowing and has been for months...I know the tires are @ 35 psi because I check them every month on all of my stuff. Some day I will simply pull the bulb on the warning light, she finds it distracting, too.

what he said.

What has the world come to that it's too much work to use a tire pressure gauge?

I think that being warned that you picked up a nail on the Exway and your tire is slowly going down would be a good thing. I know my wife would be glad for that. Isn't that what the TPMS was designed for? It's real darn hard to use a tire pressure gauge at 70 mph.

No vehicle I've had has needed a TPMS reset just for adjusting pressure(some of them need a relearn after tire rotations though). You don't get to specify tire pressures... the manufacture has done that for you and entered it into TPMS software. The door placard has this info on it.36/37 psi in a TPMS system spec'd at 35 won't do squat. 36/37 in a system spec'd at 44 or 60 or ?? sure will!

Was the service personnel aware of your TPMS concern or did you just assume the light would go off? Did they no you suspected a low LF tire so they could visually check the tire while in the bay?

Did you question THEM about the TPMS light and why it's on? I would think a '14 is still under warranty. They could have checked it out while you were there.

Have you had any tire work done? Maybe another shop damaged a sensor?

Looks like you'll be heading back there... a little communication probably could have saved you a trip.

So what you're saying is the junk worked. It notified you of low pressure(especially when weather changes) and possibly help avoid a bigger inconvenience.Sucks when stuff works as designed

Yes it did work .... but it is also going to "work again" when the temps go up ....

ONLY thing I would like having this on is a trailer ... it would have helped when I picked up a car and trailer in Fort Lauderdale and had a blow-out on Alligator Alley ...

Actually the TPMS system is designed to "save gas" by keeping the dullards out there aware that their tire pressure needs to be maintained.
I'm not sure if it was Government mandated or just strongly suggested. It is a pain in the rear. Driving from a warm state to a cold state, the ambient temp goes down and the tire pressure decreases to below the limit, the light comes on.
My wife thought it was about traction. That's what the symbol looked like to her, and she's not stupid.

I hate that it costs a MINIMUM of $5 more per tire to get tires changed on a TPMS rim.

Actually I thought it was '08 and newer were required to have direct sensing TPMS. Sensors for a '11 Ram can be had for about $40 ea. at Rock Auto

Well, I have not physically checked the pressures yet, but the dash display is showing 37-38 per tire. I did my 80 or so mile drive today & the light is still glowing yellow. And yes, when I had it in a few days ago for the oil change, I told the guy to air-up all the tires cause the light was on. It's a lease truck & has about 8,400 miles on it now & still under warranty. Not a big deal to me, I've just never had anything on a Ram malfunction like this before & I've been leasing them since 2006.

My 2014 Ram did the same thing. Due to the cold, the tire pressure dropped in one tire to 35lbs and the light came on. Others were at 36, but this was the only one it lit off on. Even with driving the truck and tire pressure increasing to 38-39lbs, it would not go off until I put 40lbs in the one it alerted on.

I have a loaded 05 Grand Caravan that has them. Two of them were dead when I bought it back in Jan of 2014.... I would not have minded it IF it did not "kill" the overhead console info. IF it had just been a light in the dash I would have just put a piece of tape over it. ALSO .... those 2 dead ones would interfere with the radio !!

I got four new tires on it about 4 months ago ... bought 4 new TPSM's through eBay .... 41$ !
