I was told that the car itself is legal. The motor is not. Lets say 426+. I was told how big but apparently they don't want that to be discussed.

The Car itself is 100% legal... all steel...including the hood. All factory glass... window winders ect. Chassis is tagged to 7.50 and could easily be tagged to 6.50! This car could be lightened quite a bit.. and still be legal!

Thats why I straightened out the facts about running Super Stock with a street Hemi.It seems the quote I referred to in my above post was describing a SS/AH shoot-out engine. I could see the chassis appeared legal from the pics provided. FJ knows very well how to build a Super Stocker and the first mistakes a novice (to SS) builder makes is the rear housing and the floorboards in the back half.

The weight (or getting it out) has to be considered all through the build, and without knowing what the car weighs and seeing actual build pics, its hard to say how easy getting weight out would be. Again FJ is a very knowledgeable builder….

I would also love to see some interior pics or even build pics as I love chassis porn, especially some of the infamous FJ's creativity….

Car looks beautiful, and at the end of the day I am not belittling him for not running it as a legal NHRA SS car. Just hopeful to have one more Street Hemi out there looking to beat up on the sea of Big Block Camaros!! At the end of the day maybe I'm the one who's

I like seeing chassis porn also. Since I'm building my Road Runners chassis to potentially be Super Stock legal, it would be cool to see more.

One problem is life gets in the way of racing in Super Stock. You kind of have to have a crew to go around with you and everyone having an expertise on one part of the car or with the racing program. Being away from a Business that is financing your racing is also a hard thing to do. Having two types of motors even if they are Hemis is a lot of work. It just goes on and on. The extra work of putting together and maintaining a Super Stock motor just takes more time away from your normal life. There are enough experienced people that live near to this car that it could be possible for Ron to do it, but all these people have their own personal Hemi Cars both race and street. The car needs more time on the track to tune the Chassis with a SS motor but thats the fun of racing. Ron does not do things half A&& and would want to be competitive if he is going to make the show. I would love to see Ron run one year as a True Super Stock car. The more mopars that do it is better all around but some times it is just about going with your friends to the Drag Strip and making passes and having fun.

Lets put it this way, if you pulled 2 plug wires off it would almost be legal. LOL

What a shame, it's just not a real Chrysler. Just think how fast and real Mopar it could be with a dana. All that money wasted on that junk rear.

Dana's may have been installed in Mopars but they're not a Chrysler rear end ... made by Dana for Chebbies !! So what the hell, may as well slap a Ford diff under it !! My guess is weight was the deciding factor. The only viable Mopar options would be an 8-1/4 or 9-1/4.

I love seeing a Dana under any car more than anyone, BUT until they make the same ratios and are easier to swap than a 9"/9.5" ford, lets just say say that its a requirement and not an option…

Function over form

How true, I remember a few years back now looking at one SS/AA Dart with a 12 Bolt Chevy in the car. The trailer that was with the Dart had another 12 bolt with it. I asked why. The owner said it was weight that made this choice and that they change the complete rearend after each race. I believe NHRA lets any rear end be put in any car. Nothing wrong with a 9 inch Ford Rear End. Many small motor cars run 8.8 Ford Rear Ends. Superior gear ratio choice like said above.
