Dad's 69 GTX which has a SPO date of Oct, 3, 68 has one of these snubber brackets. Here is a pic of it in the process of being cleaned up. It is on a 742 carrier which I heard they used up till they phased in the 489 casings.

Can anyone else verify that a 70 B-body uses the short pinion snubber bracket.Puting my 70 together now and want to be sure I'm using the correct one.It didn't have a pumpkin in it when I bought the car. John.

I just went thru all the pics I have from a recent 69 Charger build,,,and it sure looks like its the shorter one.( I dont have a clear straight on pic to show it so I cant say for 100% sure )
It was a pretty unmolested car when I started the job
