Your drum knuckles should basically look identical to this Are the 5/8 bolts you are talking about the ones that hook to the lower ball joint? Sounds like it.

Chevy and Ford guys call them "2 piece" because the lower BJ bolts to them. Drum spindles are pretty close through the years but 72 and down had smaller bearings on A-bodies and the 9" drum spindles used smaller bolts to hold the lower bj than 10" did IIRC.
