Guys, I need some help. Front brakes are locked up. Heres the details... 89 Ram 50 truck with a small block, 8 3/4 rear. Master cylinder is stock as are front brakes and lines. Only changers is from the distribution block for the rear brakes on back. Made all new lines for the rear, bled everything and now the Rear brakes (drums) are working perfectly. Fronts are locked.

Ok... so, heres the possible problem. On the front port of the master cyl. there is a factory splitter. One line runs to the left front caliper from that splitter directly. The other line goes from the splitter to a distribution block on the firewall. There is a line from that block to the right front caliper. HOWEVER, there is ALSO another line on the drivers side of that distribution block. It had a short (8") line that came around under the master cyl and ended on top of the drivers side fender well. There is a normal flare fitting on the end of that line.

What does that short line hook too? I have that port on the distribution block plugged currently. Is that why my front brakes will not release? Or, (and I have not checked) do I just happen to have two calipers or hoses that went bad at the same time?

This truck has not been on the road for 10 years. Stored inside, awaiting the roll cage, engine, trans etc... Im just about done, finally.

Ideas?
Anyone have one of these trucks and could go look at the lines?

Laine.

check your front brake hoses, they could be collapsed on the inside since it has set for 10 years.

Considered that, I planned replace them next week when I get back to it (I work 7 days on 7 days off) For safety if no other reason.

But that random brake line has me scratching my head.

Locked front brakes is often caused by the MC pushrod being too long and not allowing the rear piston to fully return.
