Just got a '67 charger. It has mono leafs and caltracs. And problems running that on the street with say a 650-700hp stroker? Car also has connectors and a 8 point bar. Has been a race car for 40 years. I'd like to stick an engine in it, and have a kick ass street car.

Oh they will drive fine... but don't expect it to hook on the street at 700hp without a LOT of tire on it. Mine are a little "clunky", but nothing too terrible. You can watch a drive around video of mine and get an idea what they're like. Mine has "sliders" in the back too instead of shackles, so it amplifies any "clunking" issues... lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqJoG_2wdMQ

No Problems here, I have done three drag weeks on mine so far. Last year I weighed my cargo and I pack an extra 350lbs of stuff in the car on drag week and that doesn't count the passenger.

Drive mine on the street... Spool and all... Like was said earlier loosen the shocks and back off the adjusters. I've been wondering if it would work to just pull the pins on the street. I haven't actually looked at the possibility though....

I drive mine on the street just like I race it. I need the bars adjusted the same so the car goes straight when it wheelies. Don't want to take the chance of a miss adjustment could end bad.

I have square pieces of 1/4" thick polyurethane glued to the top of the springs. Eliminates most of the clatter.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Been running Cal-Tracs and monoleaf springs on the street since 2003 I think. No problems...w/ a spool too. You won't be able to hook on the street, but at the track it'll work great.

Thanks Guys. I don't mind a harsh ride, or noises from parts. my concern was would it hurt anything on the street, as i wan't sure if this was more of a "race" setup and wouldn't be able to handle stresses of street driving over potholes and crappy street. looks like i'm good to go, just get some good shocks!
