Interesting post. Im having 622 with PSO heads built and will need headers. It is a pump gas engine with shift points around 7000ish in a 72 Barracuda. Have been told TTI 2"-2 1/8" step with 3 1/2 collector will e enough. Im kinda skeptical about them. If need be ill have custom ones made.
Exactly what my sb w9 headers are.

I did 2.375" on my Coronet years ago and would never do it again . I don't care what some calculator says , it has to fit in car.A 2.25" would work just as good and it is way easier to buy and find in stainless or carbon . The B1 is only a 1.78" valve so its not fooling anybody by putting a macho pipe in it.
This is good advice ^^^^^. I would also advise against anything bigger than a 4" collector. J.Rob
It does make a lot of sense

B1 heads only please but I am soon going to be having a set of headers made for my B1 headed 572. Probably going to be a stepped header type design but what are you guys running. This will be for a nitrous combo. Thanks
John, Mines 2 1/2" with 5" collectors...Not saying you need this size, but know one has been faster with B1 originals than us with our/your type car...Your gonna have more torque than you can use at the start and can use all the HP it can make out the back door !!
Just sayin !!

For your type of car Gary makes a very good argument. If you have to pull power anyway you might as well gain it on the top. I was thinking slow tanks like mine that need the torque. Doug
