Hey guys. I have some interior plastic panels to touch up in my '70 Cuda and I am unclear as to which SEM product to buy for the coating.

SEM 15013 Landau Black Color Coat
SEM 15243 Color Coat Satin Black
SEM 39143 Trim Black?

Three of my panels are new and the rest were previously painted and have some chips. It is possible to paint the old ones so they look like the new ones or do I need to paint them all to make them match 100%?

Also...which paint to use? Its a little confusing to me.

Many thanks.

-Steve

I used the landau black, and I liked it. However if you want a match to original, an autobody supply place that sells SEM can mix it to factory paint codes. That being said I would still expect some variation due to age, wear, etc. That being said, the factory match left a lot to be desired. But then again, black is the easiest color to match.

Landau is the closest to stock. If you apply it in multiple light mist coats, it's very hard to tell that it's paint.

Trim black is great for metal items. I don't believe it's formulated for plastics.

Make sure to use SEM's Adhesion Promoter before using their paints on plastic.

Thanks all!

I just bought some SEM-15013 Landau and some adhesion promoter for the raw plastic.

I almost have everything removed and will begin taking out the dash tomorrow I hope. I have the seat belts soaking in hot soapy water and they are starting to look much better. I will dye them tomorrow.

Thanks again guys.

OK, last question. How about the metal parts? I was going to wire wheel them back bare and prime and paint them. I am talking about the inside window trim and belt buckles only.

Would this be a good time to use the SEM Trim Black (for metal) ?

I was going to use the Summit Satin Black epoxy I shoot on many things but I am not concerned it wouldn't match the SEM plastic paint very well.

I used Trim Black on my interior metal pieces.
