Last time I saw him he was doing well and had the car in hibernation until his kids finished college.

Very nice guy and glad to hear all is well. I was thinking about that car the other day. I was kinda sad to see it got ladder bars, but it's still a BAD ride.

Got a 4 link in it now, not ladders.

Did they go straight from the leafsprings to the 4 link? Seems like I remember it having ladder bars under it, but that was a long time ago.
I just always liked seeing that car torqueing up on those old SS springs.

As far as I know yes, 4 link right off the bat, and Fred was ready to toss the 4 link and reinstall the leafs IIRC. Herb McCandless had a big role in making that car work on the motor/leaf combo. It was tested a LOT.

I talked to him last week. The car is still in storage. Work is to inconsistent to provide enough funds to run the car.

Awesome, thanks for the update. We used to PM each other often, then he gave me his email. I tried emailing him but he must have a new email. Would you happen to have a email for him???
