Want to install front sway bar on a 65 Dodge Coronet 500 with big block. Car did not have factory sway bar. Any photos of sway bar installed on a 65 B-Body would be very helpful. Considering PST bar kit.

Stock K Frame - 1965 B-Body. Car was 361/auto, now 440/4 spd, but didn't change K-frame.

62 thru 66-1/2 used the same bar. The links hang the bar, and the "ends" clamp to the tension struts.

They were generally on wagons, cop caps, and hi-po big-blocks. Friend's '62 Polara 500 had one.

Thanks Rick - the bar I ordered from PST has not arrived yet...will be interesting to see if it's designed like the examples you sent. Appreciate the diagram and photo.

I have an original early b-body anti-sway bar hanging up in the shop. I'd never bother to put it on car since it is very wimpy. Besides, the bushings are all shot in it and there isn't an easy way to replace them.

Cleanest setup is to use an aftermarket bar for a late 60's b-body as well as the matching lower control arms. That gives you a really nice setup that looks stock and works well.

Another option is to swap K-frames to a later style but then you're into the hassle of moving the engine back.

I covered this topic in my B-body book complete with pictures.

I've used a 69 one in a few of my cars (62-65). Just drilled the mounting holes in k member lip for mid bar mounts and used hellwig control arm mounts. Worked wonderfully and on the cheap.

This 64 had a sway bar, and the big front brakes, only one I have ever seen.

I parted out a '65 Coronet a few years back and it had a front sway bar. I think it was a 318 car but it had a front bar and big drum brakes. Maybe a taxi option package or something?

I pulled one off of a 64 Plymouth Savoy Police Car that I found in a junk yard several years ago. It is pretty hard to find the complete early B-Body factory sway bar set up due to all of the attaching parts that are needed.
