I've got the forged stroker crank and H beam rods. They checked out well by my machinist and have worked great at ~550 HP. I understand they are reliable up to about 700 HP with typical hi po (lighter) pistons... more than a stock block can handle for very long. Beyond that maybe.

Nothing wrong with Eagle forged cranks and H-beam rods. If you Google any brand you will hear scare stories. Also a lot of people get on the bandwagon as soon as someone starts throwing crap.

If you are looking for smallblock stuff, you need to try BPE. Get more info on them on the Race board.

Good Luck!
R.

One thing to be aware of when using a manual transmission with an Eagle crankshaft mine wasn't drilled deep enough for the Mopar pilot
I'm using K1 rods, Wiseco pistons, and an Eagle crank.I had to whack 3/4"off my brand new Richmond 5-speed input

The cheap parts all get mixed reviews. Just depends who you talk to. I don't pay too much attention to "one off" reports since anything can happen with one set of parts. But if you call around you might find an engine builder who is comfortable using Eagle parts. I know an engine build who used SCAT stuff whenever possible, other guys use 440Source, Eagle, Molner, etc. Sometimes it is part quality, sometimes it is a personal relationship with a dealer or a warehouse.

I have an Eagle 3.900 crank in my 470" low deck..I used Manley 6.700 H-beams and Diamond pistons. The crank actually measured .0005 small on the mains but when we calculated bearing clearances it worked out perfect Just a street toy with Eddy heads and a small solid roller...made 420 hp at 5500 and 500ft lbs most of the way there on a chassis dyno. Got about 4k miles on it now

I ran an Eagle forged crank and H beam rods for years with no problems in my 73 Cuda and then in my RED. That engine put out 817 HP and 650 torque on the dyno. I sold the car and engine two years ago and it is still going. The engine in Da Beast also has a 4.15 Eagle forged crank and H beam rods. Over 800 passes on this Engine and it has never been apart. This engine is around 600 HP. Nothing wrong with Eagle.

Just doing valid research and creating a thread that may benefit others. While it is possible to over think and over complicate things, most people DON'T THINK ENOUGH! It's good for you! I kinda think a Chinese crank is a Chinese crank. Same for the H-beams. Customer service is what you should shop for. Support the good companies, let the others fade away...
