The car is actually not real loud for what it is when idling and cruising along. But it gets much louder when I lay into it hard like when racing. I love the Ultra-Flows as I did not want my 63 to loud as I can listen to the radio when cruising but I wanted top performance for racing since I never uncap it. I had an "X" pipe long ago (before they were manufactured in mas quantities). Did help performance, but I don't remember it making the sound any different! I do know it was a pain in the keister to remove the trans. It's back to "H" pipe now.
