I just had good results with spraying Gunk brand engine cleaner into the passages, letting it sit a half hour and then running water through the block until it ran clear + about a half hour.

I've actually considered including an oven in my imaginary shop, supposed to be built after retirement. If 550 does good, think what it'd do when it self-cleans!
R.
Fridge w/ freezer (shrink parts, beer), oven (expand parts, powdercoat), dishwasher (parts cleaning). Have an entire used kitchen setup in the shop!

Speaking of shop appliances I messed up when I built my new shop.. I gave away my old reliable fridge{with all the old, cool speed parts stickers on it} and 10 years later it's still going strong in my buddies garage... ...It's soon time for the kitchen remodel and I'll probably snag the "old" appliances and move them to shop for the festivities..
