Anyone converted from an 833 to one of these? How much(if any) trans tunnel/floor pan mods are required? Is this a do able option to the other OD trans that are out there? Thanks,D.

I put a Richmond 5-speed in my 64. In my case I had to cut and box my crossmember for shift-rod and shifter clearance with the Long V-gate as it's a tad bit larger than an H-pattern shifter.I also had to make my own tranny mount. They fit and work well but they are not a "bolt-in" installation.I think it was worth it though with that low (3.27) first gear so I can run a 3.54 gear in the rear.
Here is a pic with a Long V-gate.

Gus,it sounds like you did'nt have to mod the tunnel for the trans itself, just for the style of shifter you're running? I would be using an H pattern shifter, just wondering if it would locate in the stock location(I have a console).Thanks,D.

Well my car was originally a slant 6,3 on the tree car.I made my own tunnel to fit an E-body trans and shifter assembly.I liked the E-body trans for the shifter location right next to my thigh.I also used a Long V-gate shifter on the 833 Mopar 4-speed with the same tunnel.I custom made the shifter brackets and linkage for the Richmond so they came out in the same place as the 833 so I didn't have to do any more sheet metal work. It's alot of work and fabrication but like making your own headers it's all worth it when your done.
