Hi guys and gals, I am building a 86 Dakota 493 stroker, so far its been quite the task. I am using elephant ears for the motor mounts. I have set the motor back into the cab about 5 inches to try and get some weight transfer to the back. I am using a Milodon external 2 line pump and plate. When I installed it , it binds up the gear. I have read that misaligned mount holes could cause this as when I torque the bolts it distorts the pump or the pad on the block is not 90* to the pump . Between trying to check this I have lost the big o-ring . The pump is brand new so i dont need a rebuild kit . Is there a part number for just the o ring? its hard to justify 30-40 bucks for an o ring kit just to use one of them. I have searched the net and this forum butt o no avail.Does anyone using this system or knows where i can get it?

It will be a standard o-ring so if you have an industrial supply business near you they should have the o-ring in stock. You just need to measure the ID, OD and diameter.

Summit sells a Felpro 13338 for Mopar oil pumps, $.97 each. Says it's in stock.

Don't torque that pump to OEM pump specs. That will bind the gears and you will shear the oil pump shaft for sure. I know this sounds crazy but I only use about 20 inch pounds on mine. Also make sure you can turn the pump after torquing.

If you put too big of an oring there it will bust the pump. Don't be that guy. Turn the pump by hand after torquing to make sure it's not binding.

In the milodon install sheet for the pump it says there are 2 diffrent thicknesses.1 is .065 for if im using ford gears or .085 for normal I will just lock tight it at 17 pounds if that will work. I will recheck after final assembly . thanks as for the o ring the fel pro one from summit is a paper gasket , prob base gasket. Where does everyone get theirs ? Surely not from buying the rebuild kit? Thanks for all the help.

Well that's another thing. If it uses an oring, do you still use the gasket?

The milodon aluminum pump does not use the same o ring as a stock pump.

I talked to milodon today and they dont offer just the o ring but they do have a gasket kit that's alot cheaper than the rebuild kit. milodon 21591.
