ahy OP master A Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 7,664 IN	A new squareback replacement from Flaming River... over 100 idle amps and 150 max. Advertised as cool running and durable. I saw the add in the new MA. It looks like it should work with OE style brackets. Just spendy. I'll probably get along with my late 70's "big Chrysler" alternator for now but would love to hear if anybody tries this option. http://www.flamingriver.com/index.php/products/c0023/s0013/FR1174

ahy OP master A Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 7,664 IN	That one looks nice also... and cost more manageable. Good to see some bolt in alternatives... especially for folks running AC. Its not easy to adapt non standard high output alternators to "with AC" brackets.

ahy OP master A Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 7,664 IN	It seems like the 100+ amp retrofit kits for square backs are limited to 50 ish amps at idle... not enough for my application. Also, I would be concerned with heat and life of a retrofit if run at high outputs for long periods.

BDW master Joined: May 2005 Posts: 4,707 Florida	I agree, would love to see a current (amps) vs RPM graph for all these options. Now that I have the 518 tranny, engine never gets above 2500rpm.

I know rebuilt units ( by a brand ) get the graphic card with those values coming with the alt you get... BUT, Never have being shown those values on those newer replacements with stated higher outputs. and AN ACTUAL PIC OF THE ALTERNATOR BEING OFFERED!!! ( not a reference pic ) wouldn't be funny, think you'll get the first squarebacks version ( IN MY CASE, what I want ) and get the late ones, since these are a bit wider making a tight fit and in some case requiring longer belts With a Charger born in Chrysler assembly plant in Valencia, Venezuela
