wife just called and said her front blower fan stopped working on our 06 town and country. I have not looked at it yet. I at this time am thinking maybe a resistor or a fuse. She says the rear is working fine just nothing out of any vents either upper middle or defrost. Any ideas?

Resistor is bad. Easy to replace, BUT....it probably means your blower motor is on the way out, too.
I cheaped out the first time on our 05 and just replaced the resistor. 6 months later the motor took out the resistor again so I had to replace the motor and the resistor a second time.
Neither job is hard. You get to the resistor through the glove box opening, and the motor is in the passenger side foot well. There are about 10 screws holding the motor housing together--one of them is darn near impossible to get to. I just broke the plastic tab off--holds together just fine with 9...

Many of the resisters on the later year cars have a thermal type of fuse in them. If the board gets to hot it will blow out the thermal circuit protector and it kills all power to the blower motor. Many times they have gotten to hot because the blower motor is drawing to much current as thats why sometimes its best to replace the blower motor. But I also had some that just burnt out from years of use as they get kinda hot in normal use but when they get to hot it blows and protects the circuit and the plastic housing from starting to melt. But my point is some do go out over time as they get pretty hot in normal opperation over time and if you run the blower on high alot thats when they get the hottest even in normal opperation. If you just replace it and dont want to replace the blower just see how it does. If it goes out again soon then put the blower motor in but if it does not go out again then the blower motor maybe ok. If you ever run into that problem again....one of the first indicators that the resistor is out is if the blower works on high speed only and all the lower speeds are dead.
That is what they used to be like all the time until they started putting the thermal protector unit in the resistor units. When the thermal protecter goes out it kills all power and the blower wont work at all on any speeds. Ron

Yeah it killed all speeds in the fan. So far so good its all working. The night before I sat in the parking lot with our 9 week old while wife and daughter went in shopping quick. The fan speed was left on high while I was in the back of van. Finally crawled up front and turned it down. Dad owned the van since day one and I would bet never turned heat on high or fan speed up high. We have had the van probably 2-3 months and I bet its gotten more use than dad ever used it since the rear only got used if I and kids were in there with him.
Thanks for all the advice and I will keep fingers crossed its not blower motor.
Corey
