I am having a couple of lock issues on my 2005 Ram 3500 diesel. Several years ago the rear door automatic locks quit working while the fronts continue to work.

Then the other day, my rear passenger door would not close when my daughter close it, the latch would not secure the door. I went over to check the door an before I got to her side she managed to close it. Now, its locked and won't open?

That said, I cant open it to take it apart to check it?

Anyone have any ideas or similar problem?

My my question is first an foremost how to repair the rear lock an get it open. But if I manage to do so, then I nee to address the automatic locks as well?

I don't know it will help but on my 2500 the left rear has been making noise for awhile and it will lock and not open. If I hit the remote or door unlock I can pull the lock up by hand

Could it maybe have something to do with the small lever for the child safety locks?

On the inop door locks it might be the door jamb harnesses.... been there many times for that prob. First step is to verify whether or not you have voltage at the power door lock connector at the door latches.

On the door not opening.... the door latch was screaming "REPLACE ME".... but now you're faced with the "fun" of removing the door panel on a door that won't open. The power lock actuator on the door latch is bound up. I get the panel off, and then use a long punch to break the power lock mechanism so that it can be moved to allow the door to open.

Check the child safety lock. Try pulling up on the door lock with pliers while trying to open the door.
