GLR OP master G Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 2,506 Northern Pa	Hello, I am gathering and restoring componits for a future driver build (a 1971 Charger). I don't have a pair of hood hinges at all (missing) and there is a difference between 71 B-body hood hinges and 73-74 B-body hood hinges. Idon't care abouit ..what's original/correct for a 1971 Charger, what I want is the best hinge design/function of a hood hinge. Also, I can buy new reproduction hood hinges (1971 style) that are made in Taiwan ...and I am wondering if they are any good since there steel is softer..and may bend??? Fit? And.. there are a few different places I can have a used set rebuilt...and I would appreacate if anyone has a suguestion on where to send a set of hinges out to get rebuilt. Thank you! CYACOP master Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 3,958 SW Fla.	I heard, dont know for sure but the same hinges were used for several years during the seventies? on other applications maybe pickup trucks? Look into interchange.

GLR OP master G Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 2,506 Northern Pa	So...the 73-74 hood hinges are better than the 71-72 one's? Anyone used the new reproductiopn one's yet? or Should I just take and get a used set of 73-74 Hinges and send them out to get rebuilt?

flypaper I hate Texas F Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 18,632 jersey shore	I would rebuild a used set myself I have bad luck with repop junk Rick did a great job with my hinges he even changed out the springs to the air grabber springs that have more coils for the heavier grabber hood

471Magnum master Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 3,719 Space Station #5	What ever you decide to use, make sure they have the correct springs installed. Long hoods on the Chargers required beefier springs. N96 hoods used even beefier springs. -Jim I can fix it... my old man is a television repairman. He's got the ultimate set of tools... I can fix it. Currently Mopar-less

I have no idea what they are worth. They have been in the "open" position (with springs installed) for a many years since I parted that car in 1997! My cars are 73/74 and I already have a spare set (not for sale).
