Just thought the members here should know Chuck Nuytten Carburetion doesn't stand behind his carbs. I bought a 1050 dom from him. Had major issues from the start, was sent back once, said he found black meterial in some passage. He said he ran it and it was perfect on his much smaller cube motor. Not sure how that was possible being that it was so rich.Of course he charged me too. Got it back. Still wouldn't run worth a sh_t. We've had 3 different carbs on my combo all performed as they should. Chuck was told from the beginning all the issues, he blamed everything else. I'm not sure why all 3 other carbs had NO issues at all. And now he WON'T even respond to my emails. Just thought you guys should know.
Been there, done that. Won't ever buy anything from him again. Once you fix his f-ups, they run well. APD from now on. They do stand behinde they're products! I've had several of theirs.

Now that I hear this, I'll steer clear of that company.
Maybe Thumperdart on here can help you out. It seems he's got a handle on carbs, especially the Doms.
I say give Thumperdart a chance, don't know the guy but he is always on and willing to help. Customer service goes a long way and it's nice he is willing to be here to answer questions, no brainer!

I'm considering that right now, except all my carbs are 3 circuit.

I`d love to help out and you do know that if you don`t like the 2-circuit(but you will )you can put it back where it was w/the origional blocks and un-plugging the outer bleeds but now you`ll have an adjustable t-slot jet in the body which you need anyways.

I've bought carbs from Chuck, Davinci, Reed, Braswell, Quickfuel, Pro systems, Lance, ect. Mixed bag of results from all with good support from all, and a couple duds. More than once it WAS something other than the carb, even though other carbs worked ok. IE manifold turbulence, multiple swap firing order, plug indexing ect.
What's really funny to me is, and OTB Holley 1150/1250 has NEVER been a turd lol.

Years ago I worked for John Lingenfelter, one night we were dynoing a comp eliminator engine. I installed the customer supplied latest trick of the week from Barry Grant and I could tell John wasn't happy, after a 1/2 hour of screwing around John told me to change the carb out for our box stock 1150 Dominator and that engine picked up a Bunch of power, I couldn't believe it, the customer was ticked, after spending a ton of money on the BG special.
At any rate, I asked John about it afterward and he said most carb guys screw around things they just don't know enough about.

I only have experience w/ one Chuck Nuytten carb and it ran like crap too. Owner ended up sending it to another carb company to get it straightened out.

Had the similar experience with a BG carb. We put a BG 1050 on in place of a stock OTB 1050, engine missed on the first pass. Tried jetting up and down, still missed. Took it apart 3 times, couldn't find any blocked passages. BG said send it back and they would rebuild and wet flow it for $200. Couldn't hardly believe what I heard, $200 for a rebuild on a new carb that never worked! We put the original 1050 on that we first ran with, no more missing.

When discussing 4150's there usually isn't much issue in dialing them in. Dominator or Dominator style carbs tend to have a bit more trouble, although it doesn't have to be. Considering only Dominator castings, the bodies have varied significantly over the years, you can take two seemingly identical bodies and on the same engine need entirely different idle/transition calibration. And getting the idle/transition fuel correct is a huge part of making any carb perform well. And there are a few companies that just don't get it. And it's because of those differences I run every one across an engine. On a gas Dominator I've seen as much as .010 variation in the idle jet size, .015 different on the t-slot jet, and almost .020 on the idle bleed. T-slot size and position have a lot to do with it, some have the t-slot significantly below the closed throttle blades, and I've had one .100 above the blades. Then you add 2 and 3 circuit, idle feed restrictions below and above fuel level, it's no wonder so many have issues. Then you get a few "carb builders" that have no real clue what they are doing, it's just monkey see monkey do, copying what ABC carb company does, who copied from CDE, who copied from FGH that had one engine that liked that mod, except no other engine will...
