I have a spare wiper motor with a part number of 3431077 for a 70-71 E-body. It has a second number on it of 73692 with what I assume to be the build date number of 2220 as the 3rd number. My 1971 Challenger convertible which I've owned since 7/1972 still has the original wiper motor with the same part number of 3431077 and number 73692 on the yellow label/black numbers, with the build date of 2710 stamped in the case. The vert has a build date in Dec 1970. The spare wiper motor is one I picked up 30 years ago as a spare for the 71 vert. Now, if my wiper motor went bad, I'd send it in to be restored. A friend needs my spare to finish a 70 Challenger for a friend. I've told him I'd sell it - it works fine - but I have no idea what these motors bring. Any idea what to ask? When these motors are restored, are the yellow labels with black numbers reproduced? Thanks for any help.
Terry

Another question I forgot to ask. Are the numbers on the label stamped into the motor case underneath the label? My spare wiper motor does not have the label and all the numbers are stamped in the case. I'm hesitant to remove the stick on label to look. Thanks.

My T/A which I bought in 1978 had a wiper motor with the yellow part number sticker on it. The date code which I don't recall now was later than my car's SBD and I'm sure it wasn't original to the car. I traded it in a couple years ago along with some other wipers towards a restored date coded one. I checked under the sticker before I sent it off and the number stamped in the case was a number for a C body wiper motor.
I don't know if anyone makes those part number stickers.

The yellow and black labels don't normally have the same P/N as what is stamped in the motor.
The motor on your 71 was probably a factory replacement.Use the core you have to get the correct motor for your car.

Thanks for the responses. Ns1aar, your response encouraged me to carefully remove the sticker from the wiper motor. You were correct. The number under the sticker was 3431408 which I can't find what it was for. The wiper motor installed now was either installed sometime between Dec 1970 when the vert was built and July 1, 1972 when I bought the car or the factory installed it. I now may have my spare restored and install it in the car although the date of the one in the car now is closer to the car's build date as you can see in my original post, but only by about two months or so. Does this seem the best route to go? Any idea what body the 3431408 was for?

The 3431408 motor was used on 71 A-bodies only. As far as the date code on the other motor it seems date codes run aprox 30 to 180 days before SPD of course with Chry that's not firm. I have date codes closer to Dec if that's what you want.

Now I need to decide whether to keep the one that's in the car and get it restored and have a new sticker made or sell it to my friend, and have the spare restored since it's date and part number correct and install it in the convertible. They probably installed it at the factory if they ran out of the e-body ones and used the sticker or it was replaced under warranty if something was wrong with the original. Thanks for the help.

One last question about the wiper motors. The rubber grommets that go in the mounting bolt holes are hard and cracked. Are these grommets available as well as the flanged aluminum sleeves that go in the grommets? Thanks.
